Mother's Day came a day early for us this year! Nirvana presented us with a black Broere Jazz colt on Saturday May 10th!
"Django" (the 'D' is silent) is named after the European Jazz musician, Django Rheinhardt. Django has all of the athletic qualities and classic beauty to be a star! It is a real treat to look out in the pasture and see the pair grazing.
In September 2008 Django was presented to the KWPN jury at the annual Kuering. The Kuering was held at Silver Creek Farms, Oklahoma. Django was a star! He received a 1st premium and was also named the 'Best of Site Dressage Prospect'!
When the results of this year's North American KWPN Kuering tour came in Django was ranked as the #4 foal/weanling:dressage in North America!

Our Gelding by Rousseau!
Caravaggio, by Rousseau.
While only a yearling, Caravaggio is already turning heads and stealing the hearts of those that meet him!
Caravaggio has been named the #1 KWPN Yearling Colt/Gelding in the USDF/Adequan All Breed Awards for 2008!
We started the 2008 show season by traveling to Nebraska for the Cornhusker Classic Dressage Show. Caravaggio showed well and qualified for the The Great American Insurance Group/USDF Breeder's Series Championship Finals.
Caravaggio was third place in the weanling colt/gelding division of the 2007 Dressage Sport Horse Breeding Horse of the Year awards program sponsored by the United States Dressage Federation, Inc. Thank you USDF for the award!
His first outing in August 2007, to the MASA Summer Fest Breed Show earned him a score of 79% and a qualifying spot in the Great American/USDF Breeders' Championship Series.
In September 2007, Caravaggio traveled to Oklahoma to the KWPN-NA Keuring and the Mid-States Finals. The jury was very complimentary of this Rousseau x Nirvana cross and he received a First Premium rating and was named the Best Young Horse of the site! A bit tuckered, he managed to compete that afternoon in the Silver Creek Breed Show receiving a 74.6%. On the second day, Caravaggio was a good sport - even though it was tough for him to trot in hand - he earned a 77.8%. In the afternoon, he capped off the busy weekend with a very respectable 76.2% and 5th place in the Mid-States Finals amid a group of competitive older horses.
May 7, 2007 - News from Hassler Dressage!
Rousseau Tops KWPN Dressage Stallion Index with 181 Points
The KWPN recently released the new stallion index results from the 2006-2007 keuring season. Once again, Rousseau has risen to the top, not only of his peer group, but as a pinnacle example of the Dutch warmblood breed. Rousseau has a new dressage index of 181 points, not only surpassing his peer group by an 8 point margin, but establishing himself as the leading producer of dressage horses in the Netherlands.
Rousseau also holds a superb conformation index of 120. These results are a reflection of the strength found in Rousseau’s offspring (mares, stallions, and geldings) as they were evaluated at keurings and IBOP tests throughout the Netherlands.
This outstanding news arrives on the heels of Rousseau’s repeat of yet another son named Champion of KWPN Show. His son, Zagreb, this year’s Champion, was the highest priced stallion ever sold through the KWPN Select Sale. These events project Rousseau to be at the forefront of the Dutch warmblood breed.
